WELCOME TO THE ART GALLERY......Biography

BACK

Sarah works to create scenes of peace and comfort reflective of her childhood in Northern Maine. She still spends her summers at "the Lake" where she now shares with her own children the things she has always done – sitting at the campfire, paddling in the canoe and swimming.

After spending many years raising her young children, Sarah started putting her creative energy into art again in 2005. The challenge of capturing the moods present in her subjects is a steady enticement and she enjoys the push and pull present between emotion and form. Sarah has worked in other mediums, but has come to find a preference for colored pencil as they are portable…perfect for working at the end of the dock where the best stuff takes place.

Sarah has lived in Topsham thirteen years with her husband, Jim, and their two girls, Lily and Grace and her shaggy standard poodle, Bennett. She is the music director at Tuttle Road United Methodist Church in Cumberland. Aside from conducting, she is a vocal coach, singer and pianist. A self-taught artist, she relishes input from her friends within her art group, and especially from her mentor, Vivian Wixom.
